Updated information in the light of Coronavirus
All Baptisms at St Botolph's happen during the main 10.30am Sunday service. Since we are currently restricted on the number of people we can fit into the church with distancing measures in place (around 50-60), baptismal parties will be limited, for now, to the child, its parents and its Godparents. You may decide to wait until things revert to normal and we can accommodate more people. If you would like to discuss a baptism, please email Jess in the church office (see contacts page).
If you have a request for an urgent Baptism (e.g. if a child is unwell), please email the church office here.
Chevening baptises both children and adults, and in 'normal' times, up to 4 baptisms can take place in a single service.
Click on form to download and please return to the Church Office at the Parish Hall or by email. Once the completed form is returned you will be contacted to arrange a convenient time for the Rector to meet with both parents in preparation for the baptism.
It is usual to have three godparents, two of the same sex as the child and one of the opposite sex, but to have one godfather and one godmother is sufficient. Church law requires that godparents should be baptised and confirmed, but the requirement of confirmation can be relaxed in certain cases.
