News and Events

I'm the district assistant for Girlguiding in the Holmesdale District which covers Chevening. At the moment, the Chevening Brownies unit is in need of new volunteers, both leaders and helpers. Unfortunately, unless we can find new volunteers in the area, there's a risk that Chevening Brownies may have to close which would be such a shame for the local community, but also for the girls who benefit enormously from having this experience.

Kind regards

A message from Trinity School Chaplain Anna Graham:

The Trinity Food Bank has bridged the needs of many of our families since March and continues to serve 30 Trinity School Families. The Food Bank has changed from a delivery to a collection-based system. Families can collect their food care packages each Tuesday between 5-6pm. We can assure you that there is no overlap with the families which we serve and those that Sevenoaks 'Loaves and Fishes' serve. If God provides an abundance of food - Pastor Andrew Junaid from the Whitefoot and Downham food Project in Lewisham comes to collect any surplus to bless the wider community.

(little did we know at the time that this would be our last service in church before the lockdown!)

On Sunday 15th March 2020 Rev Michael Gentry, the Area Dean, and the congregation said farewell to Bertie the Bus who has served as the venue for the children's Sunday Club for many years.  Sadly Bertie has reached the end of his life and will go to a permanent pasture as a play bus.  We are thankful to Stagecoach who provided Bertie, to the Sunday Club leaders who have delivered some great children's teaching on board Bertie, and to Rob and Joseph who have so willingly driven Bertie to and from church twice a month.  We will miss him, but a new chapter in the children's work now begins!

Rev Michael Gentry, the Area Dean, blesses Bertie before he departs Chevening for the last time

Farewell Bertie!

Electoral Roll - if you would like to join St Botolph's Electoral Roll please pick up a form from the welcome table in church or speak to Electoral Roll Officers Clare and Richard Marriott.  Being on the Electoral Roll means that you can vote at the APCM and also entitles you to get married or have a funeral at St Botolph's.  If you completed a form in 2019 when the six-yearly complete revision was done there is no need to complete another form this year.

Farewell to Chris!

On Sunday 25th August 2019 we bid farewell to Chris as he moved to his new post in Marlborough. It was a wonderful service in a packed church and thank you to everyone who made cakes to have afterwards.

We thank Chris, Catherine and the boys for their wonderful service here and we wish them all the best for this next chapter in their lives.
